![]() WGTS-FM/Washington DC: WGTS 91.9 just finished the second ice cream social tour of the year with more than 1,000 listeners. At the event, supporters enjoyed games, a live broadcast with afternoon host Johnny and Stacey Stone, and ice cream. The event has connected radio listeners since the initiative started seven years ago. The tour travels to Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, to meet and greet the WGTS listeners.

![]() WGN-AM/Chicago: WGN is celebrating its 100th anniversary as the 50,000-watt voice of "Chicago's Very Own" during May and throughout all of 2022. The station traces its origins back to May 19, 1922, when Thorne Donnelley and Elliott Jenkins started broadcasting from the Wrigley Building with their experimental station named WDAP. In 1924, the station acquired new call letters WGN and a new owner, Col. Robert McCormick, editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune.

The Heart of a Mom initiative made it possible for listeners to nominate their mom or a motherly figure in their life to have their greatest need fulfilled. Five special mothers had needs met that included long-overdue kitchen and bathroom work, and a reliable vehicle.
